Dark Night for a Dark Knight

At last, the finished outfit! We did a trial run Friday night by dropping into the Seattle Eagle as the caped crusaders. The next day, I made some tweaks to the costume before the Saturday night Halloween parties. The plastic chest was a separate item not included in commercial Batman costumes, so I had to spray paint it black. I was flattered when a couple of friends, quite independently, told me that I didn't need it. They said that instead I should simply have painted my own chest with black latex. Actually I seriously considered that option, but I felt this version paired better with my partner's Robin outfit. (He took this photo. See other posts for a look at him.)

Caped Crusaders on the Prowl

My boyfriend and I decided that Batman and Robin costumes would be a good way to take advantage of our height and age differences. He's an avid shutterbug and took all the photos of us in costume.
